The Diocese of Spokane is providing to our parishes a very helpful new program that allows us to streamline our direct communications to you, our parishioners using either text messaging on your cell phones or email. It is called FLOCKNOTES and is a simple and easy to use bit of modern technology.
So say, for example, that daily Mass has to be cancelled due to snowfall or icy conditions. How do we let the folks who usually attend know? Right now, we have no good way to do it; we have to rely on word of mouth and we always end up with some not getting the word. With Flocknotes, we can send out to all who usually attend that Mass a quick text message or email (you choose which...or both) that will arrive within a second at your "doorstep".
Or say, the leader of the choir wants to let everyone in the choir know that rehearsal will be in the church instead of the social hall; with Flocknotes, she can just send a quick and easy message to all her choir members to advise them.
Or say, on the eve of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, a Holy Day of Obligation, Father wants to remind everyone of the parish's Mass times; he can now do it with a click of this mouse or a twich of his thumb!
There are many other helpful features of the program as well, but you get the idea. The only thing we need is for our parishioners to sign up and that is VERY EASY:
Just click on the link in this article from your computer or directly from your cell phone, type
84576 into the Text Messaging app. The program will take you from there.
